With the exterior of the Mikvah and locker room building complete the bulk of the workers have shifted to inside.

This has finally cleared the way for the swimming pool work to begin today.

Waterproofing

A special material is applied to the Mikvah pool to waterproof it and to keep the water from leaking out.

We have a roof !

After the "Snow Storm"

Today they couldn't do much outside work due to the ice. The works continued inside.

You can notice one side of the copper roof already up.

Snowing in Alpharetta

Believe it or not - it is snowing in Alpharetta. (Usually happens once in 3 years)

This is a picture of the construction site as the snow began to fall.

Hopefully we can get some nice white pictures tomorrow if the snow keeps on falling.

The "Mock-Up"

Today the mason made a "mock-up" sample of the exterior walls of the building. Once the architect approves then they will begin to brick the building.

Time for some answers

On Friday we had a "meeting of the minds" to get answers for some of the questions that have come up during the last few weeks.

This is the south so every one on the job site owns a pickup truck.

All dressed in white

Today they are also dressing the side walls with TYVEC which is a plastic material to keep out water from the walls. This is a layer which goes on before the bricks.

Today they are dressing the roof with black felt paper which goes on before the roof material to help keep out the water.

The outside walls are all covered with plywood and ready for the brick. The roof plywood is being finished this week.

We were away for a few days and look how much is done!

Now that the slab is in the framing crew is here getting ready to start the walls.

By the end of the week the place should look a lot different. Very exciting.

The underground utilities are all in. They have already laid the first layer of rock and are now ready to pour the slab which should happen IY"H tomorrow.

Today (Monday, 12/3/07) the are roughing in the underground plumbing before they get ready to pour the slab.

Today they poured the concrete for the Mikvah - immersion pool.

Two Rabbi's how many opinions?

Today (Wednesday, November 14) the "Mikvah Expert" Rabbi Gershon Grossbaum came to visit the site to make sure that the concrete forms for the Mikvah conform to Halachic standard.

What's that?

Today they began lowering specially built forms into the Mikvah hole. This will give them the ability to pour the cement for the Mikvah in the appropriate Halachic way.
